Kids can have fun with activity stations, crafts, games, and character meet and greets while families can connect with community resources and service providers. Summer Meal Sites and Resources

About 51% of San Diego County students qualify for free or reduced-price meals and the need for nutrition support doesn’t stop when the school year ends. There are several ways to find sites in your community that serve meals to kids up to age 18 at no cost. Families can use these tools to find sites outside their community if traveling during the summer.
FEEDING SAN DIEGO FOOD MAP
Feeding San Diego has an interactive map for families to locate food distribution sites in their region. As part of the Summer Food Service Program, Feeding San Diego provides breakfast, lunch, and snack as meal options to youth ages 1-18. A range of locations host these meal distributions, including libraries and rec centers.
CALIFORNIA SUN BUCKS: SUMMER-EBT
New this summer, families with students who rely on free or reduced-price meals during the school year will have some extra summer grocery money. California SUN Bucks, also called Summer-EBT, begins in June and will provide an additional $40 per month ($120 maximum) in food benefits to eligible children to purchase food during the summer months of June, July, and August.
SUN Bucks work just like CalFresh and can be used to buy eligible foods at most grocery stores, farmer’s markets, and other authorized retailers. SUN Bucks is available to children who receive free or reduced-price school meals through a school meal application or an Alternative Income Form, or get CalFresh, CalWORKs, or Medi-Cal. Children who are attending Head Start, experiencing homelessness, living in foster care or part of a migrant family will also be automatically enrolled. There is no need to apply. Visit the SUN Bucks page for complete details.
