Snowy Owl Expectation Focus

Our goal at Sonia Sotomayor Elementary School is to create and maintain a positive and safe learning environment for all and hold students accountable for being positive forces within our school community. The Snowy Owl Expectations are taught, modeled, and practiced throughout all grade levels and locations around campus. For the next week, we will continue to focus and reinforce the expected behaviors for lunch tables. We appreciate your support in asking your Snowy Owls at home what specific behaviors allow them to be safe, respectful, responsible, and kind at our lunch tables.

National Custodian Day

Custodian Appreciation Day is celebrated annually on October 2nd. It’s a day set aside to honor the individuals who keep our workplaces, schools, and public spaces clean and organized. Our custodians are dedicated to keeping our school clean, safe, and welcoming. They are the first to arrive, the last to leave, and are always there when needed. From classrooms to playgrounds, they make a difference everyday. They quietly work behind the scenes to ensure our schools function properly and students can thrive and focus on learning. Please join me in recognizing the hard work and efforts of our Sonia Sotomayor custodians, Rafael Alvarado, Eric Sharp, and Eli Ring!
