Snowy Owl Expectation Focus
Our goal at Sonia Sotomayor Elementary School is to create and maintain a positive and safe learning environment for all and hold students accountable for being positive forces within our school community. The Snowy Owl Expectations are taught, modeled, and practiced throughout all grade levels and locations around campus. For the next week, we will continue to focus and reinforce the expected behaviors for dismissal. We appreciate your support in asking your Snowy Owls at home what specific behaviors allow them to be safe, respectful, responsible, and kind at dismissal.

Coffee with the Principals

We are excited to invite our families on Tuesday, December 9th at 8:15AM to a special Coffee with the Principals this month followed by our English Language Advisory Committee Meeting. This gathering will give us the chance to discuss our latest board policy on campus access and security.
We will be sharing information on our school’s closed campus protocols as we work together to keep our school safe and welcoming for everyone. Thank you for partnering with us and we hope to see you there!
Chula Vista Starlight Parade and Festival
A huge shout out to our Safety Patrol Advisors, Ms. Jaramillo and Ms. Pinkham, for facilitating the festive holiday activity and leading our amazing Safety Patrol members in the annual Chula Vista Starlight Parade & Festival on 3rd Avenue on Saturday, December 6th! Our students enjoyed partaking in the event and representing our school as they were cheered on by friends and family.
