This year was filled with learning, growth, achievement, and memorable experiences. From classroom discoveries and academic milestones to performances, field trips, athletic competitions, family events, and service projects, our Snowy Owls demonstrated what it means to be safe, respectful, responsible, and kind. We are especially proud of our students for their perseverance, curiosity, and commitment to learning. Whether mastering new skills, supporting one another, or stepping outside their comfort zones, they have continued to inspire us every day.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our families for their partnership and unwavering support. Your involvement, encouragement, and trust have helped make our school community stronger and more connected. Thank you also to our dedicated teachers and staff members who work tirelessly to create meaningful learning experiences and ensure every student feels seen, valued, and supported.

As we celebrate the end of the school year, we also recognize our 6th grade students as they prepare for the next chapter of their educational journey. We are proud of all they have accomplished and know they will continue to do great things. We wish all of our Snowy Owl families a safe, restful, and joyful summer. Thank you for making this school year so special. We look forward to welcoming returning students back in the fall and continuing to build a school community where every child can thrive.

Have a wonderful summer, Snowy Owls!

This must be completed by June 5th for students to be to secure a spot and be placed on a classroom roster at Sotomayor Elementary. All families are required to complete the Continuing Student Enrollment process. If you are having difficult locating the email or the system sent you misinformation on your child, please contact our front office.

If your family will be moving and your student will not be returning to Sonia Sotomayor Elementary next year, please inform our front office by emailing leticia.real@cvesd.org.

Snowy Owl Expectation Focus

Our goal at Sonia Sotomayor Elementary School is to create and maintain a positive and safe learning environment for all and hold students accountable for being positive forces within our school community. The Snowy Owl Expectations are taught, modeled, and practiced throughout all grade levels and locations around campus. For the next week, we will continue to focus and reinforce conflict resolution. We appreciate your support in asking your Snowy Owls at home what specific behaviors allow them to be safe, respectful, responsible, and kind when resolving conflict.

Yearbooks are here!

Great News! Our yearbooks have arrived and all preordered books were given to the classroom teacher for distribution on Friday, May 29th. We can’t wait to take a glimpse of our memories in the yearbook. A grand applause to our Yearbook Advisor Ms. Chatham for the countless hours spent capturing our Sotomayor memories and creating the yearbook! Any families still interested in acquiring a yearbook can reach out to Dr. Amanda Storch for information.

Last Call for Library Books

All library books were due Friday, May 22nd! Please check with your child and around your home to locate any school library books. Returning these books promptly will help us prepare our library for the next school year and ensure that all students have access to our wonderful collection.
